Emma Lavin

Assistant Instructor

Emma began dancing when she was three years old and has not stopped since! With over 18 years of training, primarily at her hometown studio Edmonton Dance Factory, Emma has experience dancing and competing in a range of styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, pointe, and Bollywood. In high school Emma discovered her love for musical theatre, performing in and choreographing productions of Guys and Dolls, The Boy Friend and Grease.

Upon graduating high school, Emma moved to Toronto to pursue a honours bachelor degree in Criminology at the University of Toronto. Continuing to follow her love of dance in university, Emma joined several student dance and theatre companies. She is currently the Technique Director for the Only Human Dance Collective, running a weekly workshop program for beginner dancers, and the Co-President of Vic Dance. Emma is also very involved in the U of T theatre community, choreographing the Victoria College Drama Society’s 2019 production of Mamma Mia and the upcoming St. Michael’s College Troubadours 2020 production of Guys and Dolls.

Emma also has extensive previous experience working with young children, and spent the last summer running the preschool summer program at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton. Emma adores dancing with all of your aspiring ballerinas, and is excited to share her passion with a new generation of dancers alongside the wonderful Harmony team.
